We've been working with our big ideas/theories from our read aloud book, Home of The Brave. Based on what you know about creating big ideas and theories so far, what big idea does your independent reading book yield? Give at least two examples to support the theory you have about your independent reading book.
My example: In the sixth book of Land of Stories, perseverance is a big idea the author follows throughout his book. Alex's brother, Connor, spends the entire book trying to rid his sister of her curse. He battles an army in Central Park, travels back and forth between the fairy tale world and the real world, and always encourages everyone helping him that they will indeed be successful in helping his sister. It is due to his perseverance that Alex's curse is lifted. (I reread this three different times and each time I revised my post - revising really is a skill you will use every single time you write!)
